EfficientIP Integration Guide
Overview
EfficientIP is a DDI platform providing enterprise DNS, DHCP, and IP address management (IPAM) through its SOLIDserver appliances. Because both certificate automation and discovery lean on DNS and accurate network inventory, EfficientIP is a natural data source for a certificate lifecycle platform. CertSecure Manager uses it to automate domain validation and to inform where certificates live across the network.
Key Use Cases
- Automated DNS-01 Validation: Automates the DNS-01 challenge records through EfficientIP DNS during ACME-based issuance and renewal, so publicly and internally trusted certificates can be obtained and rotated without anyone manually editing DNS zones.
- IPAM-Informed Discovery: Uses EfficientIP IPAM data to target network discovery scans intelligently, locating certificates across known hosts and subnets instead of scanning blindly and missing assets.
- Clean Validation Records: Keeps DNS validation records consistent throughout the certificate lifecycle and cleans them up automatically once issuance completes, avoiding stale records and configuration drift in the DNS estate.
